A fire on the kitchen cooktop resulted in destruction of the kitchen cabinets, ceiling linings, windows and flooring as well as extensive smoke damage throughout the rest of the building. The house was uninhabitable which caused hardship for the Owners whose son required use of the in-house kidney dialysis machine. It was critical that this machinery, and the room the equipment was located in was able to be accessed during the fire damage rectification period.
The Owners elected to significantly upgrade the quality of construction and finishes and contributed to this additional cost. The resulting Kitchen is shown with the unusual polished stone benchtops, stainless steel appliances and polyurethane cabinetwork.
A devastating incident led to the owners upgrading their Kitchen to a designer-inspired work space – something they had wanted to do for a number of years.
